Who We Are
About Us
Welcome to Not A Statistic Youth!
At NASYouth (Not A Statistic Youth) we are dedicated to the well-being and personal development of young people, inspiring, equipping, and empowering them toward a balanced, hopeful future despite life’s challenges—even when the odds are stacked against them.
We believe every young person deserves the chance to rise above their circumstances and thrive. Too many young people—especially those in care, pupil referral units, the youth justice system, or facing silent struggles in mainstream schools—are written off before they’ve had a fair chance. We exist to change that story.
Our Vision
We envision a generation of young people who are not limited by their backgrounds, experiences, or the challenges they have faced. Instead, they are equipped with the tools, support, and opportunities to rise above adversity, make healthy life choices, and create futures filled with purpose and hope.
Every young person, regardless of their background or life experiences, possesses the resilience, confidence, and hope to overcome adversity and build a positive future.
Why focus on well-being?

Our Mission
Our mission is to provide early, trauma-informed support that equips young people—especially those facing disadvantage or adversity—with the tools, guidance, and opportunities to overcome challenges and thrive in life.
Through wellbeing workshops, mentoring programmes, life skills training, and motivational talks, we prepare and support young people aged 11–21 to navigate life’s challenges with resilience, confidence, and purpose.
Our Core Values
1. Every Young Person Matters
We believe no young person should be written off. Every life has potential, and every young person deserves the chance to be seen, heard, and supported.
2. Trauma-Informed Care
3. Early Intervention, Lasting Impact
4. Empowerment Through Growth
5. Community & Collaboration
Why It Matters
1 in 5 young people aged 8–25 in the UK has a probable mental health condition (NHS, 2023)
Among 17–19 year-olds, it rises to 1 in 4.
Only 1 in 3 receives the support they need.
Looked-after children are four times more likely to experience mental health challenges and up to 72% in residential care struggle with significant issues.
Without intervention, the impact is lifelong—affecting education, employment, and wellbeing. Late intervention also costs the UK around £17 billion annually.
We exist to bridge the gap—reaching young people before crisis takes hold, giving them tools to cope, and creating a pathway to hope, resilience, and opportunity.

Meet Seyi Jenyo
Founder’s Story
Seyi Jenyo, Founder of Not A Statistic Youth, combines personal experience, professional expertise, and a lifelong passion for empowering young people.
Seyi’s early life was marked by adversity, trauma, and loss. Having experienced low self-esteem, grief, instability, abuse, abandonment and more, she endured 7 out of the ten recognised Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). Rather than allowing her circumstances to define her, she has proven that you don’t have to be a statistic, even when the odds are against you. This personal journey fuels her passion for helping young people overcome challenges and avoid being written off by society.
After earning a BSc (Hons) in Radiotherapy and Oncology from the University of Hertfordshire, Seyi pursued a career as a Therapeutic Radiographer, treating people with cancer across both the NHS and private healthcare sectors. Alongside her professional career, she has spent over a decade mentoring young people, managing projects for charities, and working with startups in corporate and community settings.
Seyi’s passion led her to start Not A Statistic Youth, fulfilling a promise she made to herself—to become the mentor and the person she needed during her own teenage years, and to create a lasting, positive impact in the lives of others. She founded NASYouth to inspire, guide, and empower young people, giving them hope and the tools to build resilience, confidence, and purpose. Drawing on her own experiences, Seyi shows young people that their past does not define their future, and that they can rise above adversity to create a brighter tomorrow.
Today, Seyi continues her work as a Therapeutic Radiographer while leading NASYouth. As an author, speaker, and mentor, she shares her story with authenticity and relatability through television appearances, podcasts, and speaking engagements—leaving audiences inspired, motivated, and empowered.
